Ming resting on the Couch

Ming resting on Couch

Ming was sitting beside me on the couch so I grabbed the camera, he stayed right where he’d been, and I got this image.

A Burning Sky at Sunset

Sunset tonight just kept getting better and more brilliant.  The color changes that took place over about a 30 minute stretch were amazing.

Sunrise through the Trees

I caught this image yesterday morning.  I liked the way it lit the trees from back to front in different color saturation.  The fir tree got my attention almost as if saying, look at me, but, yet I was drawn to the sunlight.

Walking throught the Woodland

This walking bridge is located a few hundred yards from the Illinois River and  snakes its way along for a few hundred yards through the woodland.  It’s marshy and water can come up to and beyond the bridge.  There’s a small park at one end of the walkway and boat ramps and a parking lot at the other.  I added a bit of tint to the surface, for fun, using Photoshop Elements 6.

Grey Squirrel on the Window Sill

This little rascal begs for peanuts every day by either jumping up onto our front window sill or going to our back sliding  glass door.  He never seems to get filled up.  Looks like he’s playing peekaboo but he’s begging for some grub.

Ming and Sheba resting on the Bed

This is one of the last pictures we got of the two of them together before Sheba, on the right, passed away at age 20…Ming will be 7 years old in January.

The Last Diesel Through Peoria Heights, Illinois

I have the Last Train Through Peoria Heights on Flickr but thought you might be interested.  The Bicycle and Walking Trail have replaced the Train Tracks.  My wife and I can walk right off the back of our property directly onto the track.  Many folks are taking advantage of the track daily, summer and winter, and someone is always walking by or zooming by on their bicycle.  When I was a boy some of us would hop the train and go to school as the tracks ran right below the school in the center of Peoria Heights.  We weren’t terribly bright at the time in our lives.

What’s planted here?

I took this image on 11/10/2012.  Whatever is planted here certainly cheers up an otherwise dreary, early winter day.
