Caesar and Sheba sacked out on the Couch

Caesar and Sheba sacked out on the sofa2

I took  this image when, Caesar, our daughter and son-in-law’s cat was visiting for a few days.  Unfortunately, those of you who follow my blog know, Sheba, passed away a few months later.  She was 19 years old and a very loving companion for my wife and I.  Caesar, now almost blind, is able to get around the way animals sense of their immediate surroundings allows, seems to know where everything is in his home.  He never runs into anything and jumps up on the sofa and bed as if he could see as well as before his troubles set in a couple years ago.

My wife took this image this past fall in Forest Park Nature Center, Peoria Heights, Illinois where we often go to shoot.

Deer in Neighbor’s Front Yard

Deer in Neighbors Yard

I took this image of the doe through my front window ( a NO! NO!) or otherwise I would never have captured her.  This happened in the fall of 2009 if my mind serves me correctly.  I ran for the camera and when I came back she was still there so I took the shot.  I put the camera away and came back to the front window and there were four deer standing in my front yard.  Keep in mind, as my followers know, I live in the city but near wooded areas and deer a plentiful in Central Illinois.  Still don’t expect to see them in your front yard.  The four ran off as soon as one notice me watching her.  If it’s a little fuzzy you know why.

Backyard Vegetable Garden 2011

Backyard Vegetable Garden 2011

Our backyard Vegetable garden…Yellow Squash, Sweet Corn, and Tomatoes.  My wife liked to set there and watch things grown.  The Maple Tree in the background hardly cast a shadow seven years ago…look how big it is now.

Lonely Winter Timber

Lonely Winter Timber

Winter timber has a quiet, peaceful appeal and a beauty all its own.  It’s almost as if it’s inviting you in for a closer look.
