Ming in Black and White

I took this image of our cat, Ming, and, over corrected the color saturation in Photoshop Elements 6 – I should have left well enough alone – so I decided to remove the color all together and post him in black and white.

Who will take the last Image?

How about that?  There’s a profound thought.  Why in the world the idea popped into my head I’ll never know.  When you consider all the images taken all over the world by all all the photographers you can hardly think.  Billions!  And we’ve only made a dent.

Gotcha!  Someone just took the last image.

Dan De Ment Images on Facebook

I’m in the process of setting up a Fan/Business page on Facebook.  The work is going slowly since I’m having trouble getting a shopping cart from Pixels.com.  Truthfully, I haven’t even heard back from Fine Art America as to why their shopping cart code doesn’t appear to be working.

Having said that, I  can load individual images onto my page – so it’s not like I’m completely, “dead in the water.”

Now, this morning I discovered my, Twitter account, died.  I don’t know if it blew up, blew away, if I did something to crash it, or, if Twitter goofed up.  Actually, it could even be my NookHD causing the problem.  Who knows?

As far as my followers and friends here are concerned you are already privy to much of the same information and images I’ll be loading onto Facebook simply by clicking on my Fine Art America Logo in the upper right hand portion of this page.

Thanks for your time and continued interest in Elm Drive Images and Dan De Ment Fine Art at Pixels.com.

Follow up to Image shot 01/09/2016

Follow up to Image 1092016_edited-1

I told you I would shoot an image this morning to show the additional snow received during the night.  As you see, at most, we received another inch – no more than that.  Our driveway has drifting which will require shoveling later.  The temperatue is about three (3) degrees and the wind will blow up to 30 miles per hour today causing more drifting.  No more snow is forcasted for a few days.

Oooops! Me and My Big Mouth

Oooops! Me and My Big Mouth_edited-1

Be careful what you wish for – although I didn’t.  We now have two inches on the ground and the wind is blowing and it’s suppose to snow all night. It’ s now 5PM Saturday!

I’ll shoot the same shot tomorrow morning and see how we ended up.

Unusual Early January in Central Illinois

Unusal Early January in Central Illinois

This is really quite unusual, indeed, for any January in Central Illinois.  We would normally have snow on the ground from December but, as you see, none.  We had about an inch a week or two ago and it’s melted.  I could easily have taken this same image right after all the leaves had fallen around the end of November.  We ar expecting 1 to 2 inches of snow tomorrow – I’ll belive it when I see it.

As many of you know I shoot a good deal from inside the house due to a medical condition against cold temperatures … therefore, you see the reflection of one of our kitchen lights in the garage window.

Is this whole business the result of El Nino or Global Warming?  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
