Autumn’s Beauty

I believe I loaded this back in the fall of 2010 but it may have been lost when my hard drive crashed shortly thereafter.

We should begin seeing fall color around the middle of October in Central Illinois.  I can’t wait!

The Sun is Rising

I shot this image one week ago at approximately 6:40AM.

Muffin on the Prowl

Muffin, our Feral Cat, was on the prowl, looking for who knows what, when I captured this image.  She looks either chubby or pregnant … there’s no way she could could be pregnant due to the capture, spade, and release program a number of years ago.  I managed a a slight bit of work in  Photoshop Elements 6 to sharpen and adjust the color so she’d look just like you’d see her in person. Enlarge for a better look!

Where’s the Male American Gold Finch?

Well, I’ll admit my focus here wasn’t the best.  But, since it’s a fun shot I’ll not worry much about it – this time.  Hint:  if you enlarge you’ll see the part of him I could capture … two yellow sides with a black stripe down the center.  He’s well hidden.

Praying Mantis Head down on our back Deck Screen

This beauty was working our back sliding door screen the other day.  There was another one a few feet away that was completely brownish in color.  I know they do change color to match their surroundings.  The one in the above image had the whiteish/ silver color on its back as you see. (that is not sunlight – just to clarify.)
