This is just one of four images I took yesterday from the Grandview Drive Overlook in Peoria Heights, Illinois. I took the shots about noon, not a recommended time for light of course, but I wanted a hazy, distant look up the river valley.
The river snakes its way up the valley mile after mile and from this image, an illusion of sorts, you’d think the woodland runs right up to the river. There is actually a road beyond the tree line and even homes across the road. There are some areas along the valley where the river does run right up to where it is so close to the river road nothing could be built. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky when I took this so I reduced the sky view to what you see here.
