Face Off

IMG_1341

I pulled this image from my 2012 archives.  Our cat, Ming, and, Scooter, the chipmunk, are having a bit of a, “how do you do.”

Single Cone Plant

IMG_0941

I found this image in my archives from April 2012. The plant was a bit haggard but, in my opinion, the color out weighed what might have been –  just another Cone Plant.

Well, Muffin, was caught dozing while protecting our flowers.  We did not put her on KP duty.

This is our cat, Ming.  Like most cats he often just stretches out like you see him here.  This image was captured withe my Samsung Galaxy Tablet E and I could not find a cropping tool.  It does take a pretty good image.  Guess I should have loaded it into Photo Shop Elements and cropped it there.  NEXT TIME!

Early Spring 2017

Early Spring 2017_edited-1_wm

I took this image on April 14th this spring from inside the house as it was to cool for me to go out.  I’m afraid it’s not as well focused as any of us would like  – particularly the Flowering Crab.  I worked with it a bit in Photoshop Elements 6 but was unable to improve it beyond what you see here.  Anyway, it was early morning light and the Flowering Crabs flower’s are a crimson red. On the left is a Lilac Bush which, at the time, had not blomed.

This large Hosta, transplanted by my wife, Jean, from another part of our yard, is growing up against our garage.  It is really going to take over.

Landscaping – always a continuing process

Landscaping_wm

We have been doing some landscaping over the past years.  Just beyond our fence is the bicycle/walking/jogging track developed and laid by our Park District.  My wife, Jean, with the help of one of our daughter’s, Stephanie, get all the credit here. The work in progress,  the upper left of the image, is a Trumpet Vine.  The large trellis has yet to be fastened to the fence.  It’s attached to a smaller trellis with green garden tape/velcro at this point.

Our Feral Cat, Muffin, was so comfortable I could not pass up this shot.  Sorry about the Deck.  I need to fill in some portions and paint it.  Shortly!

My wife has a green thumb as you can see.  For your info …  I shot this with my Canon 75-300 Zoom Lens – and my Canon T3 set on Landscape. I don’t have a Macro lens so this works for me when shooting more than one subject.  Of course my camera has a Macro setting but I like the long lense.  This shot is hand held!  Just my way to have fun.
