Black-Eyed Susans

Black-Eyed Susans II_edited-1_wm

My wife planted Black-Eyed Susans a few years ago and they really took off.  They will spread like wild fire if you don’t keep a tight reign on them.  I see  them on lots of golf courses in the Midwest.

Note:  Our daughter, Stephanie, transplanted the Black-Eyed Susans from another part of our yard and they really took off.

This lovey group of Black-Eyed Susans are growing in our Backyard Flower Garden.  Left to their own devices they would take over the garden.  They really brighten up the place.

Reddish/Pink Canna

image

This reddish/pink Canna was blooming in one of our neighbor’s yards a few years ago.  I liked the way the sun hit it producing the shadows on the leaves.  I deliberately blurred the Black-eyed Susans in the background but liked what they added to the composition as well as the color they contributed.  I had to center the Canna otherwise I would nor have been able to give the Black-eyed Susans the appearance of encirclement.
