IT SNOWED

might be snowed in_edited-1_wm

Well, not since November have we had more snow than it takes to fill one shovel.  This past Friday night and all day Saturday some of us had as much as 12 inches with three foot drifts … in our driveways.  If you look at the lower part of the image you’ll see a three foot wall left after the neighbors driveway was cleared.

I’ve got more Pictures.  It will be some time before all this melts.  Meanwhile, we could have more snow any time. NUTS!

Colorful Evening Sky

I shot this image two evenings ago.  Every once in a while the sky just lights up.  I’ve posted similar shots in the past – as many of you know.

4:10 PM… “I MUST BE LOSING IT!  HAD TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF MY POST.”

The snow started at 6:55 AM this morning, November 4th, 2016, and it’s now 12:55 PM –  and still snowing.  Expecting 1-3 inches and then it will melt later due to temperature rising.  It’s wet!  I kind of goofed up the last image.  Cut the bottom off.

Ooops!  I don’t know what I was talking about in my post below.  There is still plently of green left here.  I just added more color.  I must have been looking out of the wrong eye this morning.  My bad! Continue reading

A Doe in the Morning

edit1132010-mg_0640_edited-1

On a morning in March 2009 I looked out our front window and in the next door neighbor’s yard stood the Doe you see above.  She was partially hidden by the tree, which by the way is no longer there, and seemed completely oblivious to the fact she was standing in the middle of a neighborhood.  She stayed a couple minutes longer before walking off through to the back yard and out onto the railorad tracks behind our home. (The railroad tracks have been replaced by a bicycle/ walking track as many of you know.)  I believe I posted the image years ago and then lost it when my hard drive fried.  Sorry the image is a bit fuzzy.

Since they installed the new track we seldom see any deer.  There use to be lots of cover for them when the railroad tracks were still there but since their removal seeing a deer is very rare.  They come up from our Nature Center once in a while.  Once we had four Does in the front yard. Never got a picture of that group.

Grasses along the Track

One of the families, across and down the bicycle/walking track from our home, has planted this lovely patch of Grasses. The landscaping speaks for itself.

A Corner’s Landscape

I was out walking the other morning just down the street from our home.  The light was not favorable for shooting but I liked the way the sun showed the changing color of the center bush.  Here, in Central Illinois, all the sharp, bright greens are beginning to fade.
