Early morning, Red Sky behind the Flowering Crab

Reddish morning sky behind the Flowering Crab

I shot this image a few mornings ago.  Catching the Red Sky behind the Flowering Crab was to much to pass up.

Quiet Country Lane

Quiet Country Lane_edited-1_wm

This country lane is located at Jubilee College State Park just 15 minutes outside of Peoria, Illinois.  Shadowed on the left foreground is a bean field and in the distance – a corn field. The image was shot on an early, partly cloudy, summer evening.

Illinois River Valley 2013 Enhanced

A few weeks ago I loaded this image.  Yesterday I discovered an editing program called, “Aviary,” (it’s free) and was astounded at its strength.  My original post didn’t even show the grass in the lower left hand corner…let alone its color.  It sharpened the picture and allowed me to bring forth greater color and tone.  For my friends, this editing program is for phones and tablets.  “I am not being paid to push this program!”

Rainbows after the Storm

Rainbow an a half_edited-1_wm

These rainbows, one barely visible,  appeared after the clouds two posts below, as sunlight hit our garage.  From my angle the garage door appears as crazy as the day.

This image was shot on July 11, 2017.  The day, date and time menus, on my point and shoot camera, goofed up – the details indicating the image was taken the end of December 1979.

Orange Skyline at Dusk

orangy-pink-sky-at-dusk_edited-1_wm

Over the years I’ve posted skyline images when they really jump out at me.  A couple weeks ago, when we still had a bit of snow – there is no snow here now and none expected throughout January – again the sky lit up around dusk.  Hope you enjoy!

Sentinel for a Bean Field

image

I took this image in 2008, if my memory serves me correctly.  I found it on my Nook under a special image file.  There are a number of images from years past in the file and I’ll pass them on to you as we go.  I didn’t even own a Nook when I shot this image.  Somehow I downloaded it and others from my desktop image library without realizing it. (my age you know). When you get, long in the tooth, you do a number of things without realizing it/them until much later.

First light strikes the Tree tops

IMG_1396

The first light of dawn struck the tops of the trees behind our home two days ago making this image possible.  It immediately caught my eye.

Backyard Vegetable Garden 2011

Backyard Vegetable Garden 2011

Our backyard Vegetable garden…Yellow Squash, Sweet Corn, and Tomatoes.  My wife liked to set there and watch things grown.  The Maple Tree in the background hardly cast a shadow seven years ago…look how big it is now.

Sunrise through the Trees

I caught this image yesterday morning.  I liked the way it lit the trees from back to front in different color saturation.  The fir tree got my attention almost as if saying, look at me, but, yet I was drawn to the sunlight.
