IT SNOWED

might be snowed in_edited-1_wm

Well, not since November have we had more snow than it takes to fill one shovel.  This past Friday night and all day Saturday some of us had as much as 12 inches with three foot drifts … in our driveways.  If you look at the lower part of the image you’ll see a three foot wall left after the neighbors driveway was cleared.

I’ve got more Pictures.  It will be some time before all this melts.  Meanwhile, we could have more snow any time. NUTS!

Here’s some Snow for you

A Snowy November Day_edited-1_wm

I shot this a few days ago as a large storm was moving through Central to Northern Illinois.   We received about six inches in the Peoria area and further north near Chicago they got as much as 14 inches.

There’s the Driveway

Well, it was there afterall.  The individual white spots you see on the driveway are actually little snow/ice combinations that fell from the big tree on the right.  We are expecting 2 – 5 more inches of snow today.

What happened to our Driveway?

I know we have a driveway – I’ve seen it!  It has to be there?  It’s under seven (7) inches of the wet stuff.  Don’t forget the blowing snow that came in after this was shot.  It snowed and blowed for another 2 or 3  hours.  Then, it moved East – Sorry.  As if they didn’t already have enough to worry about.  This storm reminded me of Newfoundland where I was stationed in the Air Force for 18 months in the early 60’s.  Those folks average 265 inches of snow per winter.  Snowing for days up there is a given.  The East is the real slave to these past two storms, I know.  Good luck to everyone getting out from under this. By the way, the fur tree across the street looks like it’s been covered in whipped cream.

Here is another view of the snow storm on 2/1/2015.  Some of the Cardinals are feeding in spite of the snow.

Big Snow Storm in Midwest – 2/1/2015

This storm started before midnite last night .  I took this image about two hours ago – it’ s now 4PM.  IT’S STILL SNOWING!  We’ve had between 5 and 9 inches depending upon where you’re located.  The storm should blow itself out sometime between 7 and 9PM.
