IT SNOWED

might be snowed in_edited-1_wm

Well, not since November have we had more snow than it takes to fill one shovel.  This past Friday night and all day Saturday some of us had as much as 12 inches with three foot drifts … in our driveways.  If you look at the lower part of the image you’ll see a three foot wall left after the neighbors driveway was cleared.

I’ve got more Pictures.  It will be some time before all this melts.  Meanwhile, we could have more snow any time. NUTS!

Here’s some Snow for you

A Snowy November Day_edited-1_wm

I shot this a few days ago as a large storm was moving through Central to Northern Illinois.   We received about six inches in the Peoria area and further north near Chicago they got as much as 14 inches.

Two Female Cardinals resting between feedings

I took this image a couple of years ago.  Did a bit of work in Aviary to sharpenen it best I could.  It’s still a bit fuzzy looking due to falling snow.

A Snowy Morning

About a week ago we received two or three inches of snow.  I grabbed my camera and was about to shoot the image when the car suddenly came into the shot.  Go figure?

Cardinals enjoying the first big snow of the season a couple years back

Everyone is hungry when the cold and snow settle in for the wintery season.  Some of you may have seen this image in the past and since there is no snow in some areas of the Midwest – and none predicted, at this time throughout the month of January, I thought I’d re-post it for those of you who had not had a chance to view a few of the Cardinals. That winter we had as many as 20 at a time feeding on our feeder’s.

A Daughter in Winter

Our daughter from Texas came to visit during the winter of 2014 – said she’d never come back in the winter again.  I let her use one of my parkas when she and my wife went for a walk in the snow.

4:10 PM… “I MUST BE LOSING IT!  HAD TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF MY POST.”

The snow started at 6:55 AM this morning, November 4th, 2016, and it’s now 12:55 PM –  and still snowing.  Expecting 1-3 inches and then it will melt later due to temperature rising.  It’s wet!  I kind of goofed up the last image.  Cut the bottom off.

Numerous Male and Female Cardinals at the Feeder

This is remarkable…we’ve never had this many Male and Female Cardinals at the Feeder at one time…I counted 20 at the moment of the image.
